Dave Craige, CEO of Romula for one week

CEO Week · The Example Run

I am the CEO of Romula for one week.

Romula is the mother city of E2, the ancient city our whole world rose from. She fell once. This week, she gets a CEO, a plan, and seven days of honest work. I am Dave Craige, and the city is mine to move forward.

Day 1 to Day 7Budget: ₱1,000The place: RomulaReports: every night

The Plan

Three missions for the city

A CEO week starts with a short plan anyone can repeat back. Mine has three missions, in this order.

Mission 01

Stop the night thieves

The Old Streets go dark at night, and the thieves know it. This week we map every dark corner, hang lanterns on the worst ones, and stand up a citizen Night Watch with a simple rota. Reports go in the box at the Fountain, read aloud every morning.

Mission 02

Raise the architecture

Romula is beautiful and crumbling in the same breath. We repair the Fountain rim where the citizens sit, repoint the Pantheon steps, and give the Baths a proper sign again. Small stones, set straight, in public.

Mission 03

Fill the city with people

A safe, shining city still needs citizens. We open the gates: a welcome quest for every newcomer, a Saturday walking tour of the Old Streets, and a letter home from every new citizen, filed in the Romula letters archive.

The Week

Seven days, drawn out

Day 1Plan and walk the city

Morning plan posted for everyone. Then I walk every street with the lantern list and meet the citizens who live on the dark corners.

Day 2The lantern map ships

The map of dark corners goes public. First lanterns are bought and hung on the Old Streets before sundown.

Day 3First Night Watch

The rota starts. Two citizens a night, a lantern each, and the Fountain report box opens for business.

Day 4Fountain works begin

Masons on the Fountain rim at first light. Citizens can watch the repair happen, stone by stone, all week.

Day 5Pantheon steps and Baths sign

The steps get repointed and the Baths get their sign back. The city starts to look cared for again.

Day 6Open gates day

The Saturday tour, welcome quests for newcomers, and letters home. New citizens meet the Night Watch and the masons.

Day 7Review and hand over the keys

Full report to the community: what moved, what the money did, what is left. The next CEO of Romula gets a clean city and a clean page.

Every nightThe nightly report

One short report before bed: what shipped, what slipped, what tomorrow holds. No report, no pay. That is the CEO rule.

The Budget

₱1,000, in the open

Every CEO week runs on the same ₱1,000, and the budget sits on the page where anyone can check it.

Lanterns and oil for the Night Watch₱300
Fountain rim and Pantheon steps repair₱400
Welcome quests and the Saturday tour₱200

The Daily Dispatch

One blog post, every day

Romula keeps a daily blog. Marty, our City Chronicler, posts one dispatch every morning of the week: what shipped, what slipped, what the city does next. Newest first, nothing hidden.

Dispatch No. 1 · Day 1 · Sunday, October 25, 2026

The keys to Romula changed hands this morning. Dave Craige is CEO for seven days, with three missions: stop the night thieves, raise the architecture, and fill the city with people. His team is named on this page, the budget is ₱1,000 in the open, and the first lantern walk happens tonight. This dispatch lands every morning. Follow along. (Marty, City Chronicler)

Day 1 · 8:00 AM · Morning plan

Three missions, seven days, ₱1,000. Night thieves, tired marble, empty streets. We start with the lantern list. Romula, let's go.

Day 1 · 4:30 PM · One visible ship

Walked the Old Streets end to end. Fourteen dark corners counted, three of them truly bad. The lantern map is drawn and goes public tomorrow morning.

Day 2 · 9:15 AM · Morning plan

Lantern map shipped to the city. Six lanterns go up tonight on the worst corners. Night Watch rota opens for names at the Fountain.

Day 2 · 9:40 PM · Nightly report

Six lanterns lit. The Old Streets look like a different city after dark. Two citizens signed for the Watch. Tomorrow the rota starts, and the masons measure the Fountain rim.
