E2 Guide

Connect a domain in about 3 minutes

The whole recipe for giving a site its own domain, like harsh.cool. Tonight's mission: jeepney.host. The Jeepney site (free hosting for Filipino creatives) lives at e2.life/jeepney right now. These steps put it on its own URL. Steps 1 to 4 are yours, step 5 is mine.

1

Buy the domain at Porkbun

Search jeepney.host. The registry says it is available (checked tonight). Take the 1 year price, skip every extra, and peek at the renewal price before you pay: .host renewals are the part they whisper, we read them out loud. WHOIS privacy is free and included.

Open Porkbun
2

Add it in Cloudflare

Add a site, type the domain, pick the Free plan, then Continue. When it shows a DNS records review, just continue past it. I add the records from my side.

Open Cloudflare
3

Copy the two nameservers

Cloudflare ends that flow by showing you two nameservers for this domain. They look like this (yours will have different names):

example1.ns.cloudflare.com example2.ns.cloudflare.com

Copy both lines exactly as Cloudflare shows them.

4

Paste them into Porkbun

Domain Management, tap the domain, then Edit Authoritative Nameservers. Select everything in the box and delete it, paste your two Cloudflare lines, one per line, and hit Save Nameservers. The finished box holds exactly two lines, nothing else:

yourname1.ns.cloudflare.com yourname2.ns.cloudflare.com
5

Tell Muse: domain ready

Send me the domain name and say it is ready. I attach the route, add the DNS records, and verify the site is live. Usually minutes, then the person has a real site at their own domain.

Tonight: jeepney.host

Done before: harsh.cool

Why is step 2 yours at all? My Cloudflare API token can edit DNS and routes but is not allowed to create zones, so adding the site is the one click that has to come from you. Everything after the nameservers save is mine. Want it to be zero steps someday? Broaden the token and add a Porkbun API key, and even this page becomes a museum piece.
