Before you join us, let's be straight with each other.
E2 is a kinder world we're building together. It's an experiment, it's run by a small team with big dreams, and we take it seriously. This page is our contract with you. The top half is us talking like people. The bottom half is the formal version, because some things need to be said the lawyer way. Read both, then sign at the bottom. Everyone signs before joining. No exceptions.
What you're doing
You're joining E2 as a member. That means an account, a presence in the world, and a seat at the table. Membership costs $100. Right now, founding members get 100% off, so you pay nothing. That discount won't last forever, and the price itself may change down the road ($200, $500, $25, whatever we decide). We'll always tell you well in advance before anything changes, and you'll always get to choose whether to continue. You must be at least 18 years old to join.
One more thing worth knowing: we're still deciding how to structure the company itself. It might become an LLC, a nonprofit, or even one of those DAOs the crypto people do. Whoever we become, your membership and your rights under this contract carry over. And we're holding 100% of the equity ourselves. No investors, no outside owners, nobody else at the table.
What we can and can't offer you

- Original stories, characters, and worlds, made with care.
- A place to create and share, and to be credited for what you make.
- Our honest effort, every day, to make this better.
- A real human to contact if something goes wrong.
We can't
- Perfection. E2 is an experiment. Things will break, change, and occasionally disappear.
- Permanence. We may redesign, rename, or retire parts of E2 as it grows.
- Professional advice. Characters are entertainment, not doctors, lawyers, or therapists.
- A guarantee of outcomes. We promise effort, not results.
- Your data sold to anyone. Ever. (That's a can't and a won't.)
The legal ramifications, plainly
Signing this contract is a real legal act. Here's what it means, no jargon:
- You agree to be kind. It's the core rule. Harassment, hate, spam, or illegal activity can get your membership ended.
- You keep what you create. Anything you make is yours. You give us permission to show it in E2 so the site can function.
- You're responsible for your account. What happens under your name is on you. You must be at least 18.
- If you invite someone in, they reflect on you. A member who vouches for a bad actor gets reviewed right alongside them.
- We're not liable if things go sideways. To the extent the law allows, E2 isn't on the hook for damages from using an experimental service. That's standard, and it's in the formal text below.
- US law applies if there's ever a dispute, and we'd much rather talk it out first.
The formal version below says all of this the lawyer way. It controls if there's ever a disagreement about what the plain words mean.

WHEREAS E2 ("the Platform") is a digital community and fictional universe operated by The Studio; and
WHEREAS the undersigned individual ("the Member") wishes to join the Platform as a member; and
WHEREAS both parties wish to set forth their rights and obligations with clarity and mutual respect;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises herein, the parties agree as follows:
Article I — Definitions
"Platform" means E2, including its websites, applications, accounts, and community spaces. "Member" means the individual executing this Agreement. "Member Content" means any text, image, or other material the Member creates or uploads to the Platform. "The Studio" means the operator of the Platform, including any successor entity, whether organized as a limited liability company, nonprofit organization, decentralized autonomous organization, or otherwise; all references to The Studio shall apply to such successor, and the Member's rights under this Agreement shall carry over to it.
Article II — Grant of Membership; Products
The Studio grants the Member a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable membership in the Platform, subject to the terms herein. Membership is offered at a fee established by The Studio, currently One Hundred Dollars ($100) per account. The Studio may in its sole discretion offer promotional discounts, including a one hundred percent (100%) founding-member discount, and may change the membership fee at any time upon reasonable advance notice; the Member may elect not to continue at the new fee. The Studio may offer paid products, memberships, and services at prices it establishes from time to time; each purchase shall be subject to the terms presented at checkout, and all sales are final except as expressly stated therein or required by law.
Article III — Member Obligations
The Member shall: (a) abide by the Platform's paramount rule of kindness, refraining from harassment, hate speech, spam, fraud, and unlawful conduct; (b) safeguard their account credentials and accept responsibility for activity thereunder; (c) represent that they are at least eighteen (18) years of age; (d) refrain from impersonating any real person, in accordance with the Platform's Tribute Character Policy; and (e) accept accountability for persons the Member invites to the Platform, whose conduct may be reviewed together with the Member's own standing.
Article IV — Intellectual Property; License
The Member retains all right, title, and interest in Member Content. By submitting Member Content to the Platform, the Member grants The Studio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote such content as part of the Platform's operation. All Platform-owned characters, stories, artwork, and software remain the exclusive property of The Studio.
Article V — No Warranties; Limitation of Liability
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE STUDIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE MEMBER'S USE OF THE PLATFORM.
Article VI — Term and Termination
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated. The Member may terminate membership at any time. The Studio may suspend or terminate membership for violation of Article III, with or without prior notice as circumstances require.
Article VII — Governing Law; Disputes
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution of any dispute before pursuing formal remedies.
Article VIII — Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Platform's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding membership. In the event of conflict, this Agreement shall control with respect to membership matters.
Article IX — No Third-Party Beneficiaries
No investor, partner, lender, or other third party is a party to or beneficiary of this Agreement. The Studio is independently held, and no outside ownership interest confers any rights hereunder.
