The Romula Digest presents

Romula in 3D

Spin the Pantheon. Orbit the Forum. Inspect the aqueducts for ducks.

Three days before the Ides Vol. MMXXVI · Interactive Price: two copper coins

Docket No. 3D-001 · Filed in the round

Walk around the ancient world.

Drag to orbit. Scroll to zoom. These are real 3D scans and reconstructions of the buildings Romula was modeled on, embedded live. Plinius the Nosy has inspected each one and stamped them all, including, somehow, the loading screen.

Model I · Drag to orbit

The Pantheon

The great dome, in the round. Find the oculus at the top and imagine the noon beam hitting the marble floor. Plinius notes the dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome and takes full personal credit for noticing.

Model II · Drag to orbit

The Roman Forum

A full 3D tour of the ancient Forum: temples, blueprints, and the present-day ruins underneath. This is what Romula's own forum aspired to, and, locals insist, surpassed, mostly because of the lunch.

Model by Daniel Fouladian, via Sketchfab.

Model III · Drag to orbit

The Aqueduct

A Roman aqueduct bridge, scanned stone by stone. Zoom in close and check for ducks. Plinius has, repeatedly, and maintains his findings. The ducks maintain otherwise.
